Alright....I am so upset I feel like kicking something. Aetna is my insurance and has been the only insurance provider I've had for about 4 years...in fact even before I started at Amex I had Aetna.
In November I got a bill from Banner Good Sam (the hospital I had Abby in) for roughly $160,000. Aetna denies my claim. I call the insurance company and the conversation goes as follows.
Insurance Agent: How may I help you?
Me: Could you tell me why you denied my claim for my hospital stay?
Insurance Agent: Can you hold for one moment?
Me: Sure
Hold music plays for 15-20 minutes
Insurance Agent: I am sorry for the short delay. We did an investigation and our records indicate you have other primary insurance.
Me: I do not have any other insurance.
Insurance Agent: Our records indicate that you do.
Me: But I don't! Which other insurance do your records say I have?
Insurance Agent: I don't know we will have to do an investigation.
Me: I thought you already did the investigation.
Insurance Agent: We have and it shows there is another plan but does not show what plan.
Me: Okay......how do we fix this?
Insurance Agent: You have to prove you do not have other insurance
Me: How do I prove that?
Insurance Agent: It'll take 7-10 days
Me: What will take 7-10 days
Insurance Agent: The investigation.
Me: What investigation?
Insurance Agent: The one for the denial.
Me: Okay...so what do I need to do?
Insurance Agent: Take this reference number and call back in 7-10 days.
Me: Okay thank you.
Before the 7-10 days pass I get a bill from my OBGYN's office. They had paid all the claims from there and now they have TAKEN PAYMENT BACK!
Okay...back on the phone I go. Over and over and over again I call them to get this straightened out...The conversations are all very similar....I tell them the problem...they put me on hold for a "short" time usually not less than 20-30 minutes and I am given another reference number. All my requests for a supervisor are met with..."I am sorry Ma'am but no supervisor is available but I can put you through to their voice mail." I never got a call back.
Finally last month I got if fixed....they paid the bills like they should have and all was well....or so I so naively thought.
Today I got a bill from my OBGYN's office...they have once again TAKEN BACK their payments.
I get on the phone and the rude insurance agent tells....you guessed it....we will have to do an investigation into this. Argh!!! I am writing the BBB...and I am upset enough at this point I may just sue myself an insurance company!

You're kidding me. Stay calm, breathe deeply, ignore rising panic.
